The founding and managing partner, Adam H. Springel, has been practicing law for over twenty years. An experienced and successful civil litigator, his practice has focused primarily on commercial and business litigation, construction and related insurance litigation, class action litigation, professional liability claims involving attorneys, accountants, architects and engineers, homeowners association boards, as well as the defense of personal injury and real estate matters, including superpriority lien foreclosure litigation. Adam has also handled copyright litigation and transactional matters for his clients and has been retained as an expert witness in various litigated disputes.
Adam received his Juris Doctor degree from the University Of San Diego School Of Law and received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Michigan. He is admitted to the California and Nevada State Bars, and is also licensed as a California real estate broker. Adam has been AV® Preeminent™ rated by Martindale Hubbell since shortly after founding the firm and can be found in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. Adam is also a Certified Litigation Management Professional after completing the inaugural class given by the Litigation Management Institute at Columbia University School of Law.
An avid supporter of the University of Michigan Wolverines, Adam and his family often don their maize and blue apparel in support of their team. Adam also enjoys a day on the golf course or playing Sudoku by the pool.
Leonard T. Fink, one of the firm’s founding partners, has been practicing law for over twenty years and is licensed in Nevada, California, Arizona, Washington and Idaho. Leonard represents a variety of different clients in all types of civil and business-related litigation matters. He is a frequent speaker at MCLE events and, at times, a guest lecturer at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Leonard received his Juris Doctor degree from the University Of San Diego School Of Law and received his bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University.
The court room and under the sea are two of Leonard’s favorite places to spend time. A passionate scuba diver, he counts the British Virgin Islands and the Maui coast as his favorite diving spots. He also enjoys watching movies and attending his children’s sporting events.
Darren M. Ebner, the partner in charge of Springel & Fink’s day-to-day operations in California, has successfully represented clients in multi-party complex litigation, construction litigation, personal injury defense cases, as well as other insurance defense matters. Darren prides himself on developing connections with his clients so he can provide them with the best customer service possible.
Darren received his Juris Doctor degree from Emory University School of Law and received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Michigan. He is admitted to the California State Bar and admitted to all district courts in California. Darren first served as a law clerk for Springel & Fink LLP in the summers of 1998 and 1999 and has practiced continuously with the firm in its California office since graduating law school in 2000.
He spends most Saturdays in the fall cheering on his beloved University of Michigan Wolverines football team. He also enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.
Kathryn L. Kim’s practice areas in the firm’s Irvine office include the defense of construction and personal injury claims as well as other civil lawsuits involving general insurance defense, business and commercial disputes, and class actions. Kate also has experience representing design professionals, including architects and engineers in professional liability lawsuits. She graduated on the Dean’s List from the University of California at Irvine with a bachelor’s degree in international relations and political science with a minor in Spanish language and culture.
Kate received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Francisco, School of Law. She is admitted to the California State Bar. Kate is an avid world traveler, having traveled to more than two dozen countries in Asia, South America and Europe.
Stephanie is a junior partner in the firm having focused her practice with the firm on the defense of construction and personal injury claims as well as other civil lawsuits involving general insurance defense, business and commercial disputes, products liability and consumer and other class actions.
Stephanie received her Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University School of Law and received her bachelor’s degree in psychology, cum laude, from the University of California, Berkeley. She is admitted to the California State Bar and several federal courts in California. When not mingling with clients, Stephanie enjoys relaxing and practicing yoga. During the warm summer months, she takes advantage of the beautiful Orange County scenery and participates in yoga on the beach.
David S. Schopick has been practicing law for over 15 years. David has experience representing clients in personal injury, bankruptcy and landlord tenant cases. He also currently represents subcontractors and general contractors in construction defect litigation and general insurance defense, including lawsuits involving claims for products liability and class actions in the firm’s Arizona and Nevada offices.
David received his Juris Doctor degree from the Hofstra University School of Law. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology, magna cum laude, from the State University of New York at Stonybrook. David is admitted to the Nevada, New Jersey, New York and Arizona State Bars and the federal court in Nevada. He is an avid music fan and can often be found attending concerts of his favorite bands. He also spends quality time with his family, who enjoy movies, bowling, roller-skating and bicycle riding.
A former CFO and COO for a Las Vegas homebuilder for 14 years before changing careers to practice law, Wendy puts her finance and business background to work in her representation of the firm’s clients in business and commercial disputes, class action and products liability litigation, bodily injury claims, errors and omissions claims, superpriority lien litigation, as well as the representation of developers, general contractors, subcontractors and design professionals in construction defect disputes.
Wendy received her Juris Doctor degree and her bachelor’s degree in secondary education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Wendy is admitted to the Nevada State Bar and is also admitted to federal court in the State of Nevada. In her spare time, Wendy enjoys crafting, gardening, reading and traveling with her family.
John, an Of Counsel member of Springel & Fink’s Irvine office, has been engaged in the practice of law for over 20 years. John’s extensive experience in civil litigation matters, including construction defect, personal injury, and products and premises liability claims, will allow John to meet our clients diverse civil litigation needs.
John received his law degree from Willamette University in Oregon and he is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara. He is admitted to the California State Bar and the United States District Court, Central District. He enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid San Diego Chargers fan.
An associate in Springel & Fink’s Nevada office, Michael’s practice focuses on civil litigation involving business and commercial lawsuits, as well as class actions, products liability, construction and personal injury claims, errors and omissions, and superpriority lien litigation. Michael received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the Valparaiso University School of Law and received his bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University. He is admitted to the Nevada State Bar. Michael enjoys cooking and is a craft beer enthusiast. An avid sports fan, Michael devotedly supports his beloved San Francisco 49ers and San Francisco Giants.
Rick J. Nehora is a litigation attorney with the Irvine, California office of Springel & Fink LLP. Mr. Nehora’s practice focuses exclusively on defense-oriented civil litigation, ranging from contentious and high exposure premises liability and bodily injury actions to an array of products liability related matters, including wrongful death and survival claims, catastrophic injuries, disfigurement and traumatic brain injury cases.
Mr. Nehora has successfully tried numerous civil matters as well as a multitude of pre-trial and post-trial motions in both state and federal court. Mr. Nehora is admitted to practice law in both California and Arizona.
Mr. Nehora completed his undergraduate coursework at the University of California, Berkeley, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies. Subsequently, Mr. Nehora obtained a Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University School of Law. During that time, Mr. Nehora had the pleasure of clerking for the Honorable Judge Jamie Jacobs-May of the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara.
When he’s not practicing law, Mr. Nehora enjoys the outdoors including spending time at the beach.
An associate in Springel & Fink’s Southern California office, Albert Lin’s practice focuses primarily on general insurance defense in all practice areas handled by the firm. Albert received his law degree from New York University School of Law and his bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Cornell University. He is admitted to the California State Bar. Albert enjoys staying active by playing basketball and tennis. He is an avid sports fan and especially enjoys rooting for his Los Angeles Lakers and New York Jets.
An associate in Springel & Fink’s Southern California office, Kayla Le’s practice focuses primarily on the defense of civil lawsuits involving claims for construction defect, personal injury, and products liability. Kayla received her law degree from the University of San Diego, School of Law and her bachelor’s degree from University of California, Los Angeles. During law school, Kayla was a law clerk to a large internet-based corporation where she collaborated with outside counsel in defending lawsuits and responding to regulatory civil investigations. Kayla also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Judge Robert D. Monarch at the Superior Court of Orange County. Kayla is admitted to the California State Bar. In her free time, Kayla is a classical pianist and enjoys running.
Thomas Levine is an associate in Springel & Fink’s Nevada office. His practice focuses on construction defect, bodily injury, products liability and other general insurance defense matters. He received his law degree from the Santa Clara University School of Law and his bachelor degrees in Journalism and Philosophy from the University of Nevada, Reno. Thomas is admitted to the State Bar of Nevada. He enjoys martial arts, having competed at the local, regional, and international levels in Historical European Martial Arts, and has a Black Belt from the American Judo and Jujitsu Federation.
Jonathan Pattillo is an associate in Springel & Fink’s Nevada office. His practice focuses on construction defect, bodily injury, errors and omissions, products liability and other general insurance defense matters. Jonathan received his law degree from Baylor University where he was a member of the Order of the Barristers. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Duke University where he was a class officer and avid basketball fan. He is admitted to the Nevada State Bar and the State Bar of Texas. Before practicing law he worked as a political consultant, working on campaigns at the Congressional, Senate and Presidential level. In his spare time Jonathan enjoys reading and jogging.
